Specs and Features of the 2023 Ford Ranger

The 2023 Ford Ranger is one of the best mid-sized trucks in its class. With a combination of power, style, utility, and value, it has few peers. Highly spec-ed and full of technology, it can perform some of the most demanding tasks yet remains agile enough for regular city use. Below are some of the main features that make the Ranger shine as the perfect truck. Cab Specs Two cab options are available for the Ranger, the SuperCab, and the SuperCrew. The SuperCab is a two-door cab with four seats, while the SuperCrew features four-door access and can seat five people. The cabs have plenty of space, providing 41.1 inches of legroom in the front for both, while the SuperCab has 30.4 inches and the SuperCrew 34.5 inches of legroom in the rear. Engine Specs The power that sits under the cab is crucial in a mid-sized truck, and it is here that the Ranger really delivers. It comes with a 2.3L EcoBoost, twin-scrolled turbo engine that includes Ford's Auto Start-Stop technology for improved efficiency. A 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission accompanies the unit to deliver power to the drivetrain. Performance Specs The result is a power unit that can provide up to 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, which gives between 19 and 20 mpg for city driving and 19-24 mpg on the highway, depending on the chosen model. In addition, it has a towing capacity of 7,500 lbs across the whole range and can carry a maximum payload of between 1,478 and 1,905 lbs. Chassis Features The Ranger is equipped with either 4×2 or 4×4 drive types. There is also the inclusion of an Electronic-Locking Rear Differential system on some models, which prevents the back axel from moving while delivering optimum power to both wheels, providing greater grip in difficult conditions. A Tremor Off-Road Package is also available, which increases ground clearance and skid plates to aid in traversing rugged terrain on a regular basis. Technology Features There is plenty of technology in the Ranger to keep you happy. One such feature is the Ford Co-Pilot360, a suite of features that help the driver during the journey and is included as standard. To go with this is an 8-inch infotainment panel featuring the Sync3, which will seamlessly connect to your phone and can allow voice control. Safety Features Safety features are prominent on the Ranger, with some of the most advanced tech employed to help prevent you from having a collision. They include a rearview camera and AdvanceTrac, with a roll stability feature that monitors the vehicle, automatically applying breaks and taking control of the engine if it detects the danger of rolling over. These are just some of the highlights of the features and specs of the Ranger, but there are many others. In order to get a complete picture, you need to see the ranger yourself and take its wheel. An Overview of the 2023 Ford Bronco

Thanks to its legendary off-road versatility and strong performance, the Ford Bronco has earned its reputation as one of the most reliable SUVs ever made. The 2023 edition more than honors this legacy by adding a wide range of exciting upgrades while keeping many of its original features from previous years the same. Throw in a rugged yet luxurious and comfortable cabin, and there aren't too many reasons left to not take a closer look at this rugged-and-ready SUV. Engines and Versatility Among the 2023 Bronco's three impressive engine options are two V6s and a four-cylinder. Despite its small size, the 2.3-liter four-cylinder offers a surprisingly powerful 300-horsepower output. However, if you need more power, the first V6 is a 330-horsepower 2.7-liter, while the other is a 3.0-liter that produces 418 horses and comes standard with the Raptor trim. Along with its standard four-wheel drive system, this edition also offers an advanced 4x4 system that comes standard on upper trims and constantly adjusts power to the front wheels based on changes in driving conditions. This, along with the high-speed off-road suspension system (H.O.S.S.) and a multi-mode terrain management system, both of which come standard in all models, allow the vehicle to venture virtually anywhere with ease. Interior and Technology Available seating options inside the cabin include heated front seats with both 10-way power driver and 8-way power passenger controls, a 60/40 split-folding seat in four-door models and a 50/50 variation in those with two doors, and your choice of cloth, leather trim, or moisture-resistant marine-grade vinyl as seating fabrics. This edition's tech features are all impressive as well, including the SYNC 4 infotainment system, which offers both a 12-inch touchscreen and hands-free control over everything from music to navigation assistance. To keep an eye on your surroundings when driving off-road, there's an available 360-degree camera system that offers multiple angles around the vehicle. Smart Safety Systems Working to make lane changes safer, both the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and Lane-Keeping System found in the Bronco do so in different ways. The first system detects vehicles in your blind spots and lets you know when they're there, while the other monitors your driving behavior to both warn you and steer the vehicle back to where it should be if you start to unintentionally leave your lane. There's also the Hill Start Assist feature that improves safety on inclines by giving you more time to switch your foot between the pedals while stopped, as well as Adaptive Cruise Control, which can set the vehicle to your preferred speed while occasionally slowing or accelerating the vehicle to keep it a safe distance away from others in front of you. Off-road versatility, strong engine performance, and a luxurious interior are just some of the many impressive qualities offered by the 2023 Bronco. How Long Has It Been Since Your Ford's Last Safety Inspection?

How long has it been since you last had your Ford inspected? Regular safety inspections are a critical part of vehicle maintenance that helps ensure the safety of the driver, passengers, and other motorists on the road. If it's been a while since your vehicle was inspected, consider taking it to your local Ford dealer for a checkup. Why Worry About Safety Inspections? Regular inspections help identify potential hazards that may be present in your vehicle. Worn brake pads, malfunctioning seatbelts, or damaged tires can all be on the list. By identifying and repairing these hazards early, you may be able to prevent accidents and injuries. When Should I Schedule an Inspection? It's recommended to have your Ford inspected annually, but this can vary depending on the age and mileage of your vehicle. If your car is over two years old or has more than 12,000 miles on it, it's time to schedule an inspection. Also, any time you notice changes in the way your vehicle is handling, such as unusual noises, vibrations, or difficulty braking, it's important to schedule an inspection as soon as possible. What to Expect During an Inspection During the inspection, a qualified technician will thoroughly inspect your vehicle to identify potential safety hazards. Typically, they will examine the brakes, tires, steering and suspension, seatbelts, and lights. The technician will also check for any leaks or damage to the exhaust system. If any issues are identified, the technician will provide you with a detailed report outlining the repairs that are necessary to ensure your Ford is safe to drive. The Benefits of Regular Inspections Regular inspections provide a number of benefits. Along with identifying and repairing potential hazards before they can cause accidents or require costly repairs down the line, they can also extend the lifespan of your vehicle by ensuring that all systems are functioning properly. Schedule Your Inspection at Your Local Ford Dealer To ensure that your car is safe to drive, it's important to schedule your inspection with a qualified technician, and the best place to go is always your local dealership. Their friendly and professional technicians will be able to complete your inspection quickly and efficiently, as well as complete any repairs that are necessary with genuine Ford parts. If it's been over a year since your last inspection, or you've put more than 12,000 miles on it since the last time you went in, it's time to schedule one now. Don't wait until it's too late: prioritize your safety and the safety of others on the road by getting your vehicle checked. Ready for that inspection? Call Conway Ford to schedule yours today!

New tires

4 Signs Your Ford Needs New Tires

When looked after and rotated often, tires can last a good four to six years. If you've been using the same tires for this amount of time, keep an eye out for the first indications of tire trouble. The following problems mean it's time to visit your nearest Ford dealer for a set of new tires. Slow Punctures Needless to say, if you experience a puncture, you need to replace that tire. But not all punctures are obvious. Some are so small and well-hidden that you don't notice them until it's too late. If undetected, these slow punctures can lead to dangerous blowouts on the road. If you find that the pressure of one tire is always diminishing inexplicably, you might have a hidden puncture. This is why it's so important to check your tire pressure once or twice a month. While measuring the pressure, always examine the treads for any embedded bits of metal, which can also conceal a slow puncture. Low Tread Depth Tires require sufficient tread depth to grip the road. The tread depth of tires is usually around 10/32 to 12/32 of an inch when new. This tread depth steadily wears down over time. The laws of most states stipulate a minimum legal tread depth of 2/32 of an inch. There are no such laws in South Carolina, which leaves it down to the common sense of the driver. But it's unwise to drive with treads less than 2/32 of an inch. And on the icy roads of winter, anything under 5/32 of an inch has a greater risk of losing traction. Dried Out Rubber The oils and moisture trapped inside rubber gradually dry out over the years. This evaporating process is accelerated by the UV rays in direct sunlight and also by constant fluctuations in temperature. As they dry out, you'll first notice the rubber of your tire's sidewalls gaining myriad hairline cracks. This is harmless enough until the cracking becomes excessive. Once the cracks start to deepen and widen, consider having the tire changed out. Bubbles in the Rubber If a wheel hits an obstacle while driving or parking, the impact can damage the rubber compound, causing the tire to warp into a bubble or blister. Sometimes, the inner tubing can be punctured, causing air to seep out and become trapped in a visible surface bubble. Any such evidence of damage means the tire is structurally threatened. If in Doubt, Ask Your Local Ford Dealer It can be difficult to know when sidewall cracking is excessive or if a bump in the rubber is a dangerous blister. When you're unsure, you can always ask a technician at your local dealership, who'll be happy to help. Have your tires serviced or replaced at Conway Ford. We're an award-winning dealership dedicated to excellent vehicles and service.

Car Maintenance

4 Car Maintenance Tips to Keep Your Ford Running Smoothly for Years

Your car does a lot for you, so it makes sense that you want to know how to take good care of it. Staying on top of your Ford's maintenance will ensure it lasts for many years. Here are some easy and helpful car maintenance tips that your Ford dealer wants you to know. 1. Drive Gently Most of the wear and tear that happens when you're driving your car occurs during the first 10 to 20 minutes of driving. This is why it's so important to drive with care, especially when you first get behind the wheel. How can you drive gently? Don't accelerate too quickly, don't slam on your brakes except in an emergency, and do your best to avoid bumps and holes in the road. 2. Check Your Tires Often If your tire air pressure starts getting too low, then you could run into a few potential problems. You may be at higher risk of issues like flats and blowouts, which can quickly go from inconvenient to dangerous. Avoid these problems by checking your tire air pressure at least once a month. Don't forget to also keep an eye on your treads. If they're starting to look a little too worn, consider having your tires replaced. Similarly, you may need a tire rotation if they're not wearing down evenly. 3. Refill Your Fluids Have you checked your car's fluids recently? Your vehicle needs several fluids to run efficiently. This includes your coolant, engine oil, transmission fluid, and power steering fluid. If you notice that these fluids are getting low, you should make sure to refill them right away. Also, if you notice any signs that you have leaking, make sure to head to your dealership for a repair. This includes things like puddles under your car or your fluid levels lowering faster than they used to. 4. Go For Regular Service One of the best ways to deal with problems that you and your car might encounter is by preventing these issues from coming up in the first place. So how, exactly, can you do this? Getting regular service will keep your car in good shape and help you catch minor issues before they become serious. It's best to get your maintenance from your official car dealership. The staff at your dealer are experts when it comes to Ford vehicles, and they'll know what common issues to be on the lookout for as well as how to fix them effectively. Knowing the above tips will ensure that you treat your car right. This will help it last for many years to come. Is it time for your regularly scheduled service appointment? Does Your Ford Need a New Catalytic Converter?

A catalytic converter, or cat as it's also called, is part of the exhaust system that converts harmful substances into safer emissions to reduce air pollution. When there's a problem with your Ford's converter, it will have a considerable impact on your vehicle's performance. The following symptoms will help you determine if your Escape, Explorer, or F-150 needs a new converter from your Ford dealer. The Check Engine Light Is On The gas levels in your car's exhaust are monitored by the air-fuel ratio and oxygen sensors. If these sensors detect that there's a problem with the converter and your car's exhaust gasses are not properly catalyzed, it will trigger the check engine light on your dashboard. You Smell a Sulfurous Odor Gas contains tiny amounts of sulfur which turns into hydrogen sulfide during combustion. The converter turns the hydrogen sulfide into sulfur dioxide, an odorless substance. When the cat is not working correctly, it will not convert the gas properly, and the unburnt fuel in the exhaust will give off a sulfurous odor that smells a lot like rotten eggs. Your Car Feels Slow and Idles Roughly Your car's converter is a metal canister with honeycomb mesh inside. Carbon buildup within the mesh or melting due to the heat from unburned fuel will cause a blockage inside the cat. A blocked converter restricts the exhaust flow and will cause your car to idle roughly and respond slowly when accelerating. Your Car Is Heavy On Gas Another symptom of a failing cat is high fuel consumption. When you step on the accelerator, your car will respond slowly but burn more gas. A blockage in the converter will reduce the airflow in the exhaust and cause your vehicle to burn more gas than is needed. You Hear Rattling Noises Due to age, damage, or excessive heat, the mesh inside the converter starts to break apart. The old or damaged converter will make rattling noises from under your car when your car's idling or driving. Your Car is Hard to Start and Stalls When you start hearing rattling noises, it's vital to replace the converter as soon as possible to prevent the deteriorating material from getting into the muffler. Once this happens, it will cause stalling and starting issues. A converter lasts approximately 100,000 miles or ten years. Following your Ford's recommended maintenance intervals will reduce the risk of converter problems and prolong the life of your car's cat. Call Conway Ford today to schedule a maintenance appointment. The qualified technicians will perform a thorough vehicle inspection and ensure that every system and component is working properly and your car is in top running condition.

Battery

3 Signs Your Ford May Need a New Car Battery

Your car's battery is essential, as short of a jump start, it's the only way to start your engine. The battery will fail in time, and you'll need a new car battery. As your Ford dealer in Conway, SC, we can easily fit a replacement for you when you need it. These are some signs that your battery could be failing. Your Battery Is Old A car battery has a limited lifespan. In the life of your car, you'll replace the battery every three to five years. This replacement is necessary as the chemical reactions that enable your battery to store and supply electricity will eventually destroy it. Your battery contains a variety of chemicals, including sulfuric acid. As time passes, sulfuric acid slowly breaks down. Sulfuric acid releases hydrogen gas as part of the breakdown process. Hydrogen can escape the battery casing and mix with other chemicals in the air. This will produce corrosion on the outside of the battery which further weakens it. If your battery is at least three years old, we advise having your battery checked to ensure it's still working correctly. If your battery fails our tests, we can replace it for you. Damaged Alternator As we've seen, your battery doesn't produce electricity: it just stores it. This power is used to start your engine and to maintain your car's electrical systems when the engine is switched off. The electricity used by the battery needs to be replaced, and that's where your alternator comes in. The alternator will recharge your battery as soon as the engine starts. A worn alternator, however, changes this situation dramatically. If your alternator is failing, it won't be able to provide enough power to recharge your battery. Each time the battery is used, less power will be available to recharge it. Your battery will soon run out of energy and fail. Our technicians can test your alternator and replace it with a new one to fix the problem. Distorted Battery Case A car battery is usually rectangular, but you can also get square batteries. Extreme heat and cold can cause problems with your battery's internal structure. Heat or cold can alter the electrolyte balance inside the battery, and pressure will build up inside it. Since your battery casing is sealed, these pressures can cause the battery casing to bulge out. If you pop the hood and your battery looks even slightly distorted, that battery has failed. A distorted battery can't be fixed, but we can replace it for you. A dead battery could leave you stranded. If you see any signs your battery is failing, call us right away at Conway Ford.
