In this state park, there are three miles of clean, sandy beach that you can fish from. There are also several interior bodies of water throughout the park, including Sandpiper Pond, Mullet Pond, and Mallard Pond. This state park is also great for birding. You can keep your eyes peeled for shorebirds while strolling down the beach. You can also watch for bald eagles, ducks, and ospreys in the sky from the causeway. 3. Little Pee Dee State Park Finally, we recommend fishing at Little Pee Dee State Park at 1298 State Park RD. You can fish on the 54-acre Lake Norton for a variety of fish, including catfish, bass, and bream. Most people fish from the 75-foot fishing pier. Besides fishing, paddling and boating are two extremely popular activities that you can enjoy here. One thing we love about this state park is that you can rent kayaks and canoes here. Encircling the lake is a charming 2.3-mile trail which you can either walk around or bring your bicycle. The area is home to a small population of alligators; however, these are a rare sight. If you get lucky though, you might see one or two pop their noses up out of the water. Conway Riverwalk A serene walk just outside of Conway town, Conway Riverwalk takes you alongside the black waters of the famous Waccamaw River, highlighting its history in the lucrative tobacco trade.
