Conway, SC is a gorgeous, friendly city that offers its residents plenty to do. From Burger Week to incredible performances at Theatre of the Republic, it seems like there is always something to enjoy in the area. Today, we are talking about our favorite fun weekend activities that you can drive to in the Conway area.

1. Strolling Down the Conway Riverwalk

One of our favorite ways to enjoy a beautiful Saturday morning is to stroll down the Conway Riverwalk. This wheelchair-accessible trail is only 0.75 miles in one direction, so you don’t have to commit a full morning to exercise. It is located just off US 501 on 2nd Avenue, and there are plenty of things to enjoy while you’re on your walk.

We love walking down this handicap-friendly trail because of the scenic view of the Waccamaw River. If you want to spend several hours feeling more connected with nature, you can do that. We recommend stopping at Riverfront Park at the Conway Marina before you head back to your car.

2. Exploring Waccamaw River Park

We also love exploring the 237-acre Waccamaw River Park at 1050 Depot Road. There are many fun things you can do here, including playing disc golf, walking down the trails, and wildlife watching from beautiful observation decks. There is also a bike path, and this park is a great place for a picnic.

3. Visiting the Horry County Museum

Another fun thing to do on Saturday is to visit the Horry County Museum at 805 N Main St. The museum is open from 9 to 5 Tuesday through Saturday, and admission is free, but we recommend becoming a member of the Horry County Museum. It offers many worthwhile benefits, including:

  • Free admission to sponsored events
  • Access to exclusive receptions
  • Behind-the-scenes tours

4. Touring the L.W. Paul Living History Farm

Finally, we strongly recommend touring the L.W. Paul Living History Farm at 2279 Harris Short Cut Rd. The farm is open to the public from 9 to 4 Tuesday through Saturday, but you need to swing by at 10 AM Saturday if you want to take a free, one-hour guided farm tour.

We love this living history farm so much because stepping onto the farm feels like stepping into the past when life was simpler. It is simultaneously fun, educational, and peaceful.

There are plenty of great ways to enjoy a beautiful Saturday or Sunday in the Conway area. However, you can’t get there without a dependable vehicle. If you’re in the market for a new vehicle, contact us today at Conway Ford to schedule a test drive for a 2023 Ford Explorer.
