2023 Ford Mustang

The Ford Mustang is a classic American sports car and has had a special place in pop culture since its introduction in 1964. The 2023 edition pays homage to the long and storied history of the muscle car by continuing to provide the sheer raw power that drivers have come to know and love while packing the interior with the tech features of a modern vehicle.

Basics About the 2023 Ford Mustang

Powered by a standard 310-horsepower inline four-cylinder engine, which can be upgraded to a monstrous 450-horsepower V8, you will never be left wanting for speed behind the wheel of a Mustang. As we’ll discuss below, the Mach 1 trim offers the V8 with a few additional performance tweaks under the hood to squeeze out an extra 20 horsepower, which means the Mustang actually maxes out at 470 horsepower.

The 2023 Mustang is highly customizable, with five main trim levels and various optional packages available, including the choice between both manual and automatic transmissions. Additionally, the Mustang is available in both a hardtop and a convertible, though every trim level is exclusively available in rear-wheel drive.

What’s New for 2023?

With a refresh expected for the Mustang in the next model year, the updates to the 2023 Mustang are relatively minor. The most notable is the reintroduction of the Mach 1 trim level, which is equipped with a 470-horsepower V8 engine and shares its chassis with the Shelby Mustang. A Mach 1 Premium trim level adds interior upgrades, including leather upholstery, a white knob for the gear shifter, and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Notable Features in the 2023 Model

1. Advanced Infotainment Center

Ford has upgraded the infotainment center with its Sync 3 software, which is a simple and straightforward system that seamlessly integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Mustang is also equipped with a subscription-based WiFi hotspot to keep you connected while on the go and can be remotely accessed through the Sync Connect app on your smartphone, allowing you to control and monitor your vehicle’s settings, including the locks and climate control system.

2. Robust Safety Technology

Performance isn’t the sole focus of the Mustang. The suite of safety features that can be included in the 2023 model can significantly reduce the risk of a collision on the road and include forward collision detection, automatic braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and lane departure warning with lane-keep assist.
