What You Need to Know About the Mustang Mach-E

Ford in Conway, SC
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is the automaker's first Ford that's been designed exclusively as an electric vehicle. This all-electric pony car is also the first SUV to carry the Mustang badge. Here's some more information on what to expect from this performance-focused all-electric vehicle.

Trim Levels

Although specific details about trim levels are not available yet, it's known that Mach-E will be available in the following trims: Select, Premium, Route 1, and a high-performance GT model. Ford is also offering a limited First Edition trim, which will feature First Edition scuff plates, red brake calipers, brushed aluminum pedals, and three exterior colors. However, rumor has it that all First Edition models have already been reserved.

Power

The Mach-E comes with a choice of two battery sizes and is available in either rear- or all-wheel drive. The base model features the smaller 75.7-kWh battery pack that provides a range of 230 miles, while the higher trims come with a 98.9-kWh battery that will give you a range of up to 300 miles. With the high-performance GT trim, Ford is planning to provide a powertrain that delivers an impressive 459 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque. Other trims will offer 332 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque.

Technology

The Mach-E features Ford's next-gen Sync infotainment system that's as intuitive as your smartphone. It comes with a giant 15.5-inch central touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and cloud-connected navigation. To boot, the system is designed to learn driver preferences over time. The Mach-E also features the Phone As A Key system with which you can remotely start your car, lock and unlock doors, open and close windows, activate the panic alarm, and open the liftgate. This system also recognizes the driver as soon as they approach the vehicle, and auto-adjusts all settings, such as the lighting, mirrors, and radio according to their preferences.

Safety

Mach-E's standard Ford's Co-Pilot 360 and Co-Pilot 360 Assist systems will keep you safe on the road. This safety suite includes a whole bevy of advanced driver-assist systems, such as pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping, a rear-view camera, auto high beams, reverse-brake assist, post-collision braking, reverse sensing, adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, active park assist, and a 360-degree camera.

Interior

The cabin of the Mach-E is spacious and provides ample head- and legroom for up to five passengers. In the front of the cabin is a "frunk," which is a storage space of 4.8 cubic feet that can accommodate a piece of airline cabin baggage. This storage space has a drainage function, which means you can use it as an ice chest and can also rinse it with a hose as needed. The rear trunk provides a storage area of 29 cubic feet. Available is a panoramic fixed glass roof that features a special coating that will keep your Mach-E cool in the summer and warm in the cold winter months. This performance-focused all-electric vehicle will be available later this year, so if you have not done so yet, reserve your Mach-E with Ford today! image via pixabay

Trade In a Vehicle

Can I Trade In a Vehicle To Get Money Off the Purchase of a New Ford? Are you wondering if trading your current car can lower the cost of a new Ford? You are not alone. Drivers in Conway, SC often ask the team at Conway Ford this exact question. Trading in your car is a smart way to reduce your balance on a new vehicle. Contact us today to learn more about your options, and read on for essential tips to get started. How Trading In a Vehicle Works During a trade-in, professionals appraise your current vehicle and apply its value directly to your new purchase. This reduces the amount you must finance or pay out of pocket. It is a straightforward process that eliminates the hassle of selling your car privately. Your appraisal depends on condition, mileage, age, and market demand. Well-maintained cars with low mileage generally receive the highest offers. What to Bring When You Trade In Bring a few key items to ensure a smooth transaction. Provide your vehicle title or loan payoff information, registration, a valid photo ID, and service records proving proper maintenance. If you owe more than the car is worth, a situation known as being upside down, the dealership can often roll that remaining balance into your new Ford financing. A sales team member can explain exactly how this impacts your purchase. Choosing Your Next Ford After securing your trade-in value, you get to pick your next vehicle. The Ford lineup features the F-150, Bronco, Expedition, Mustang, and various hybrid and electric models. You can use the online Ford Build and Price tool to customize your vehicle before visiting the showroom. This preparation clarifies your goals and makes the trade-in conversation highly productive. Can You Trade In a Vehicle With High Mileage or Issues? Most dealerships accept trade-ins regardless of condition, adjusting the offer to reflect the state of the vehicle. Older cars or those with mechanical issues still retain value. Request an appraisal instead of assuming your vehicle lacks worth. Making the Most of Your Trade-In Maximize your trade-in value by arriving prepared. Clean the interior and exterior, gather service records, and disclose any known issues. Transparency accelerates the appraisal process and builds mutual trust. Utilize online valuation tools to estimate your vehicle value before your visit, allowing you to ask informed questions.
