2020 Ford Mustang

The EcoBoost fastback and convertible have 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, a dual exhaust system, and LED sequential taillights. The EcoBoost Premium models come with 18-inch wheels and the features of the EcoBoost. The GT models have the same equipment as the EcoBoost models but with a larger engine and a decklid spoiler. Choose the Bullitt for red Brembo brake calipers, 19-inch wheels unique to the Bullitt, and an upgraded exhaust. Ford offers a Performance Package for the coupe body styles with 19-inch wheels, summer performance tires, and a sport-tuned suspension.

The base engine for the Mustang is a 2.3-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that generates 310 horsepower. A 5.0-liter V-8 with 460 horsepower is under the hood of the GT models, and either of these engines can work with a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Shelby GT350 gets a 5.2-liter V-8 with 526 horsepower, and the new GT500 has a supercharged version of this with 760 horsepower.

You won't find a car more fun to drive than the Mustang. Its straight line acceleration is unbeatable, and once you are cruising, it has a comfortable ride and excellent steering feedback. It feels athletic going around corners, and the available MagneRide adaptive suspension keeps it securely on the road.

You can fit four people in the Mustang with most of the focus on the driver and their front-seat passenger. Cloth seats come standard with leather added in the Premium models along with heated and ventilated front seats. The track-ready Shelby has seating for just two. The Mustang's cabin has an upscale feel, and you'll even find some nostalgic elements such as metal flip switches on the dashboard for some of the controls. In the back, the fastback models have 13.5 cubic feet of trunk space, and the convertibles have 11.4 cubic feet of space back there. The base Mustang has Ford's Sync infotainment system and FordPass Connect. The Premium trims add an 8-inch touch screen display, the Sync 3 infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a nine-speaker stereo system.

All of the Mustangs come with a rearview camera. Ford offers additional driver-assist features as options, so you can equip it with systems such as blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beams, and rear cross-traffic alert. Additional safety options include forward collision warning, automatic braking, rain-sensing windshield wipers, pedestrian detection, rear parking sensors, and lane departure warning.
